posted on 31/10/2008

Under-21 players Sateva Taylor, Malysha Kelly, Vanessa Walker, and Christina Solmon have been named in the Sunshine Girls squad to face Trinidad & Tobago and South Africa in a tri-nation netball series at the National Indoor Sports Centre (NISC) starting November 10.

All four girls were members of a Jamaica Under-21 squad which went down 0-3 to the Australia Institute of Sports in a tri-series in June, as well as Jamaica's championship winning team at the Americas Federation of Netball Associations tournament in July.

The squad will be captained by Simone Forbes and will also feature returning goal shooter Romelda Aiken, who will be part of the squad for the first time since returning from playing in the ANZ Championships in Australia in August.

Both South Africa and Trinidad & Tobago teams are due to arrive next Friday, November 7, while the first game will feature the hosts Jamaica playing Trinidad on November 10.
Jamaica will play South Africa in the second game on November 11, while T&T and South Africa will meet the following day.

The teams to meet in the final encounter on Thursday, November 13 will be decided from the results of the previous games.

The rest of the Jamaica squad are vice-captain Nadine Bryan, Paula Thompson, Tracey-Ann Robinson, Nicole Aiken, Althea Byfield and Sabrina Spence.

Connie Francis will coach, assisted by Annett Daley, with team manager Hyacinth Smith, assistant manager Andrea Anthony, doctor Praimanand Singh and physiotherapist Maureen Spence-Campbell.
